Student Profile

  The students at NHA are at all levels of capability. As outlined in the Dual Enrollment link, students who have at least a 2.5 GPA are strongly encouraged to enter dual enrollment. About 20% of the students participate in this challenging and important program.  
 
Most of the students are average and do quite well in the small class environment offered at NHA. The school never puts more than nine students per class and most classes have fewer than nine. The math classes are kept very small as most students require personal attention in this subject. The teacher works one-on-one with everyone.

Some students are below average and may or may not have a 504 Plan or an IEP.  These students are afforded the requirements set forth in their plans and are given additional enrichment during the day in order for them to be successful. Part of the mission of NHA is not to distinguish between student level and to treat everyone as equal.
